BOTOX Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows.  It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, reducing muscle activity that causes those frown lines.

Although the results vary, within 24 to 48 hours you may notice a softening in the appearance and the area may continue to improve for up to a month.  Results have been shwon to last up to 4 months.

Though approved in the United States in April 2009, Dysport has a history of use in other countries since 1991.  First approved outside the U.S. for aesthetic use in 2001, Dysport has steadily gained in popularity around the world.

Like Botox, prescription Dysport is an injection used to temporarily improve moderate to severe frown lines without changing the look of your whole face.  The untreated facial muscles still work normally, allowing you to freely show facial expressions, such as smiling, in untreated areas.

Recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Xeomin is a new product use to treat frown lines or "11's" between the eyebrows.  Like other drugs in this category, Xeomin works by paralyzing wrinkles.  It blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles.  As a result, the targeted muscle cannot contract. It takes about one week for the full effects of Xeomin injections to be realized, and once this occurs the results last from three to six months.
